ORIN

Obviously Rather Intelligent, Naturally.

Voice, PC tools and memory. A Windows-first assistant project with an Android companion prototype, built for a developer to take further.

Inside ORIN

Video demonstration coming soon. Aiming for Sunday.

The foundation

An assistant you can build on.

01

Voice & conversation

Talk or type, choose a voice provider and adjust the assistant's personality. Offline speech output and optional cloud voices are supported.

02

Tools for your PC

Open and close supported apps, read PC information, set local timers and search a scoped file index. App control uses a bounded catalogue.

03

Memory & visibility

Working and episodic memory sit alongside decision records and improvement observations. Review remains under the owner's control.

04

Android companion

A prototype Android app extends the project to mobile, with basic messaging and replies tested on a Samsung S21 Ultra.

Permission checks and a kill switch keep supported actions under owner control. Improvement observations are not autonomous code changes.

For the next developer

A source-code project.
Room to make it your own.

What the project includes

  • Windows desktop source and original interface assets
  • Android companion prototype source
  • Build scripts, configuration examples and documentation
  • Automated tests and development handover material

Python and Qt Quick on desktop. Kotlin on Android. Local memory storage, configurable reasoning and multiple speech-output providers.

Current stage / pre-launch

Development kit, not a finished consumer release.

ORIN has been used and tested by its creator. Natural-language tool reliability and broader installation testing still need work. The Android app is a prototype.

Cloud reasoning and premium voices require the buyer's own accounts and may incur usage charges. Third-party components retain their own licences; redistribution review remains part of release preparation.

Private conversations, personal data and API keys are not included. This page does not provide public software downloads.
